SOLID jewellers brass 19 gauge SQUARE wire that has been TWISTED. Taking square wire and twisting it makes it stiffer and gives it the look of a rope. It is a very attractive look! With it being square it had flat sides and jeweller's brass is a little softer so be careful where you place your plies so as not to leave crimp marks. (Just turn your eyes and close the loop without pinching across the side of the eye.)
Also be aware that the manufacturer has taken great pains to keep the twist even throughout the 50 foot piece. A new piece may have a slightly different amount of twist so you will need to complete your rosary with the same roll of wire for best results. You should still get 6 rosaries from a 50 foot roll.
This is a strong and durable wire and as solid wire is easy to clean and won't tarnish as fast as copper wire that is coated or painted. Beautiful colour as it is a rich golden tone so works well with the gilt or gold-tone products and with the special antique brass crucifixes and centres.
