This chaplet is divided into seven groups containing thirty-three "Our Fathers" in honour of the thirty-three years during which the Precious Blood flowed in the veins of Jesus before it was completely poured out on the Cross for our salvation.

After each group, the "Glory be to the Father" and the verse is prayed in thanksgiving to the Holy Trinity for this great gift of the Precious Blood. While reciting these prayers, you are asked to meditate on each of the seven bloodsheddings of Jesus.

The "Our Father" is Christ's prayer. It is a complete prayer including every possible desire for the glory of God and the needs of soul and body.

The red wooden beads are to remind us of the many times that wood of the Cross had to absorb Our Lord's Precious Blood.

Method of Reciting:
continued:
a) Beginning at the single bead:
V. O God, come to my assistance
R. Lord, make hast to help me
V. Glory be to the Father, etc.

b) First Mystery & Meditation:
Jesus shed His Blood in the Circumcision. Let us ask for chastity of soul and body. Pray five Our Fathers, then;

* ) After each set of Mysteries:
- One Glory be to the Father; and
- We beseech Thee, therefore, help Thy servants whom Thou has redeemed by Thy Most Precious Blood.

c) Second Mystery & Meditation:
Jesus shed His Blood whilst praying in the Garden of Olives. Let us ask for the spirit of prayer. Pray five Our Fathers, and the prayers after each set of mysteries.


d) Third Mystery & Meditation:
Jesus shed His Blood in the scourging. Let us ask for the grace of mortification. Pray five Our Fathers, and the prayers after each set of mysteries.
e) Fourth Mystery & Meditation:
Jesus shed His Blood in the crowing with thorns. Let us ask for contempt of worldly honours. Pray five Our Fathers, and the prayers after each set of mysteries.

f) Fifth Mystery & Meditation:
Jesus shed His Blood while carrying His cross. Let us ask for patience. Pray five Our Fathers, and the prayers after each set of mysteries.

g) Sixth Mystery & Meditation:
Jesus shed His Blood in the crucifixion. Let us ask for contrition for our sins. Pray five Our Fathers, and the prayers after each set of mysteries.

h) Seventh Mystery & Meditation:
Jesus shed the remainder of His Blood and water when His side was pierced. Let us ask for the grace of perseverance. On each of the last three beads pray the Our Father, and the prayers after each set of mysteries.

i) On the Medal (or Crucifix):
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ in satisfaction for my sins, for the needs of Holy Church and for the relief of the souls in purgatory. Amen.
